Three Principles Nakivale Addiction & Mental Health Team
Contact: Tayebwa Philips, Program Manager
Nakivale Refugee Camp is home to more than 150,000 refugees in Southern Uganda. The 3 Principles Nakivale Addiction & Mental Health Team is now offering services throughout the camp, reaching multiple villages, while also sharing this work globally through podcasts and webinars.
The team has been deeply successful in providing healing support for mental health and addiction. Three of the team’s counselors are now living alcohol-free, serving as living testimony to their own healing journeys. Their transformations have inspired their wives, their families, and the wider community. Most remarkably, these men are now living happy, stable, and productive lives, while helping others discover the same possibility.
The program is managed locally by Tayebwa Philips, with an office based in Nakivale. Because of its effectiveness and strong community-based approach, the team has been welcomed across the camp.
The success of this work is impressive—not only in the profound healing people are experiencing, but also in the new understanding of human change and transformation that is spreading throughout the community.
